Frances Vincent

Born at Ipswich in October 1991, daughter of Reginald E. Vincent and his wife Jacqueline A. née Renelt, who married at Southend on Sea, Essex in 1986. Educated at Somersham Primary and Claydon High schools in Suffolk, she graduated from Suffolk New College, now University Campus Suffolk, in 2010 with a National Diploma in Art and Design and became a full-time artist the following year. Since childhood has enjoyed capturing the world around her through art, with a passion for animals combined with her natural ability to depict detail was the start of a journey into the world of being an artist and usually had a pencil or crayon in her hand. She works in a style called 'photorealism', highly detailed close to a photograph, but is quite time consuming work. Frances puts lots of effort into bringing the image to life with extra focus on the eyes and because her drawings are created by the gradual build up of layer upon layer, an eraser is not needed. Frances works in graphite pencil ranging from 4H to 8B in density, and smooth thick cartridge paper of the highest quality to produce highly detailed drawings of animals for exhibition and private commissions of beloved pets. She has been exhibiting her work in local shows and exhibitions since the age of 13 and is a member of Bury St Edmunds Art Society. Her exhibitions have included Parallax International Art Fair, Chelsea; Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, Waterloo, London and many in Suffolk including The Gallery Highwaymans, Bury St Edmund's; Bookends Gallery, Sudbury; Needham Art Exhibition; Tendring Show Art Exhibition; Hadleigh Show Art Exhibition; Newmarket Art Fair; Suffolk Open Studios Art Exhibition at Rougham and Thornham Magna; Colne Gallery, Ipswich and Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmund's and at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk. In 2012 she started making small limited edition print runs of 25, 50 or 100, these limited edition prints can also be viewed on her website and purchased via PayPal, they also include free mounting and delivery. Her studio is at Somersham, near Ipswich and for commission enquiries you can visit her website www.fvarts.com and she will guarantee an excellent finished drawing, the finished work is mounted and free delivery.
